Description	Complex of industrial buildings partially constructed of stone. Smoke issues from a smokestack. A flag flies from a tower. Some buildings have ventilators on the roof. A waterfall flows over a milldam on the Hockanum River at the right. Two frame houses are at the left. One has a porch, the other is in the Greek revival style. A bridge across the river is in the background. Inscribed on stone beneath image: "Hulbert [sic] Manufacturing Co. / North Manchester, Conn."<br>
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. <br>The business was originally established in 1832 as the Oakland Paper Company. In 1864, Cheney Brothers became partners and the firm was known as the Hudson-Cheney Paper Company. Mr. Hulbut bought the company in 1879 and from 1879 until 1881, it was known as the Hulbut Manufacturing Company. In 1881 it resumed the name Oakland Paper Company. <br>
