Description	An elevated highway at the left connects with the Charter Oak Bridge, a highway bridge supported on concrete piers. Electric light poles are visible on both highways. A dirt road passes beneath the left span of the bridge. Utility poles and high voltage electrical towers are at the right. The Dutch Point facility of the Hartford Electric Light Company is in the background. The Connecticut River is out of sight at the left. Inscribed on back: "Looking south from corner of Van Dyke and Wawarme avenues, Hartford about 1940 before road changes due to Interstate route #91."<br>
