Description	Governor Baldwin of Connecticut stands to the right of an unidentified man in the Hotel Lexington, New York City, June 21, 1939. The two are looking at a wall mural that is apparently a photocollage depicting several scenes, including the schooner Ruth Margaret at dock with other vessels and the Massachusetts State House in Boston.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. Typed on original negative sleeve: "54782 6/21/39 / Hotel Lex-48th St & Lex Ave, City / Governor Baldwin of Conn in group / Mr. Sutton / 2542-4". This photograph is part of a series of images taken for hire by the Lexington Hotel, currently the Radisson Lexington Hotel in the corner of 48th Street and Lexington Ave. Raymond Earl Baldwin of Bridgeport was a Republican Governor of Connecticut 1939-1941, and again 1943-1946. Baldwin also served as a United States Senator and State Supreme Court Chief Justice. This photograph may possibly document his attending an event promoting the hotel or the World's Fair. Taken by Rosenfeld and Sons. Morris Rosenfeld founded the New York City-based photography business in 1910. He was a prolific photographer particularly noted for coverage of yachting and other maritime subjects. His sons Stanley, David and Bill were also active in the profession and the family firm.
