Description	Bird's-eye view of a town surrounded by wooded hills. Industrial buildings include the factories of the hat manufacturers, Tweedy Mfg. Company, S.C. Holly & Company, E.A. Mallory, G.M. Hoyt, and Henry Crofut. Other factories include W.A. & A.M. White's fur factory, Foster Brothers planing mill, D. Stevens planing mill, Geo. Starr hat case factory, Connecticut fancy die works, Merritt & Cone manufacturers of calf boots, E.S. David paper box factory, Reed Stevens & Co., H. Stevens machine shop, Hull & Belden Company, the Danbury marble yard, and Jos. T. Bates lumberyard. The First Congregational Church, the Roman Catholic church, Baptist church and Methodist church are all on Main Street. The Second Congregational church, the Episcopal church, and the Disciples church are elsewhere in town. Other major buildings include public schools, the Danbury almshouse, jail, Webster House, the Danbury Library, the Danbury News Office, the gas works, and the opera house. Major streets include Deer Hill Avenue, Foster Street, Town Hill Avenue, and Pleasant Street. The Danbury & Norwalk Railroad and the Housatonic Railroad run through town, both have trains on them. Two ponds include Starrs Pond and Whites Pond. A catholic cemetery is toward the middle right. West Street crosses Whites Pond on a bridge.
