Description	Bird's-eye view of a large town on the Connecticut River. Sumner Creek flows into the river at the left and an iron railroad bridge crosses the river in the foreground. Steamboats, including a steam ferry, and sailing vessels are on the river. The Connecticut Valley Railroad runs along the west bank. Houses, churches, and commercial buildings line the streets. Vignettes include the campus, buildings, and chapel of Wesleyan University, the Connecticut Hospital for the Insane, Allison Brothers Soap Works, L.D. Brown & son Silk Manufactory, W. & B. Douglas Pump Works, and the Berkeley Divinity School. Indian Hill Cemetery is in the right background
