Description	Bird's-eye view of a city on the Connecticut River. Two iron drawbridges cross the river at the upper right. Steamboats, barges, yachts, and a single sailing vessel are on the river. The Connecticut Valley Railroad runs along the west bank of the river. The Airline Railroad crosses the river on one of the iron bridges. The buildings of Wesleyan University are on the west edge of town. The buildings of the Connecticut Asylum for the Insane are in the foreground. House, churches, and commercial buildings line the streets. Industries depicted in vignettes include the Russell Manufacturing Co., W. & B. Douglas, the New England Enameling Co., the I.E. Palmer Co., the Hubbard Motor Co., the Rockfall Woolen Co., and the Noiseless Typewriter Co. Other vignettes depict banks, insurance companies, restaurants, and other businesses
