Description	A brick building on a city street corner has signs that read "Street / Commissioner / and City / Survoyor" "City / Fire / Insurance / Company / of Hartford" "Stevens & Rogers." Three men, one blurred from movement, a striped barber pole, a street lamp, and a telegraph pole are on the sidewalk. Horse-drawn wagons line the side street. Trees and an iron fence are in the left background. A large four-story building with a sign that reads "American Hotel" is in the right background.
Notes	Title inscribed on back in black ink. Series title: Views of Hartford and Vicinity. The Street Commissioner's office was located at 2 Central Row. In 1866-1867, the Street Commissioner was Walter H. Havens. In 1868, the Street Commissioner was Joel B. Green. James R. Stevens and Robert B. Rogers were partners in Stevens & Rogers, a jewelry store located at 284 Main Street. The American Hotel was located at 103 State Street.
