Description	Architect's rendering of plans for new wing to Aetna Life Insurance Company home office on Farmington Avenue and Sigourney Street. Construction of the new wing, proposed in 1951, was held up by a plan to route an East-West Highway through the rear of Aetna Life's property. The route was eventually altered and Aetna completed the new west wing in 1958.The new wing was designed by architects Ebbets, Frid and Prentice to harmonize with the original building's Colonial Revival design created by New York architect James Gamble Rogers and built in 1931.
