Notes
The
Old
State
House
was
erected
in
1796
to the
designs
of
Charles
Bulfinch
.
It
served
as the
State
Capitol
until
1878
and as
Hartford's
city
hall
until
1915
. The
Government
Building
in
City
Hall
Square
housing
the
Post
Office
was
begun
in
1873
and
completed
in
1883
.
