highway
section
near
Dutch
Point
was
often
referred
to as the
Dike
Highway
, as
it
ran
past
and on the
flood
control
dike
along
the
Connecticut
River
.
It
later
became
I-91
.<br>A
coal
conveyor
was
used
to
move
coal
from
one
location
to
another
. A
loaded
railroad
hopper
car
would
stop
and
dump
their
load
of
coal
into a
bin
beneath
the
tracks
, from
where
the
coal
would be
carried
up
across
the
highway
to the
generating
plant
.
