Description	View looking down at the deck of a ship. Several crewmembers wearing military uniforms and hats stand at attention with rifles at their sides. Several men in plainclothes stand in a row on a platform facing a man in uniform with a microphone. There is a pile of what appears to be triangular signs with numbers painted on them, possibly used for signaling. A jeep is parked next to the pile of numbers. Letters painted on the automobile read: "U.S.S. B[EXAR]" Several large covered guns are visible at the sides of the ship. Letters and numbers painted on the ship read: PA237-3". Several lines and pulleys are visible. Standing facing the camera, fifth from left, is William H. Mortensen.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger.<br>The USS Bexar [pronounced ' bear'] was built by the Oregon Shipbuilding Corporation in Portland, Oregon, and launched 25 July 1945. It was commissioned 9 October 1945. Among several other assignments throughout her career, the Bexar participated in several exercises and cruises along the east coast between 1948 and 1950.<br>William H. Mortensen of Hartford, Connecticut toured the ship Bexar along with several others, probably between 1948 and 1950, when it was stationed along the east coast.
