Description	Studio portrait of a young woman wearing a dress, cape, and girdle. She wears an embroidered neckpiece and a headdress that appears to be made of beads and artificial flowers. She holds a fan made of feathers in her right hand. Printed at bottom: "Notman Photo Co. Boston and Cambridge." Handwritten on back: "Rose in her costume for the Copley Society '12th Century Festival' (while she was in Boston at Miss Sacker's Art School.)"<br>
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger.<br>Rose Churchill was born in New Britain and as a young woman studied art in various art schools throughout New England, including the school of Miss Amy Sacker in Boston. She was active throughout her life as a watercolor painter, and was one of the founders of the Connecticut Watercolor Society. During the last forty years of her life, she lived in Farmington. She never married. She died in 1973.<br>
