Description	A stream meanders through a broad valley. Open fields, some with young trees in them, are on both sides of the stream. Dense forest covers the hills in the foreground and background. A few buildings, probably houses with farm buildings, are visible in the background.
Notes	The Metropolitan District Commission began to buy land for the reservoir in Barkhamsted and Hartland in 1927. The MDC then stripped the land of lumber and buildings and began constructing a dam, which was completed in 1940. The reservoir was full by 1948. This photograph is purported to show some of the area that was flooded.
