Description	This sampler depicts a large two-story brick house with a center door, and two trees. A fence runs on both sides of the house. Lines of alphabets, numbers, and text are separated by various narrow, meandering borders. The inscription is "Prudence Maria Hollister was born March 31st 1828 and marked/ this at Miss Cornwalls School in Glastenbury July 1840.". The sampler has a wide berry and vine border on all four sides.
Notes	Prudence Hollister was the oldest daughter of Ebenezer and Prudence Hollister of Glastonbury. As a child, Prudence attended Miss Cornwall's School for Young Ladies in Glastonbury. She married Timothy Robbins Stanley (1810-1874), a Civil War general. After her husband died, she moved back to Glastonbury to live with her younger brother, Isaac Newton Hollister, who was described as a wealthy farmer.
