Description	Row of brick and frame houses with stone foundations line a dirt street. Each building has scroll-cut vergeboards and finials, balconies, half-timbering and board shutters. A small girl walks along the paved sidewalk. A two-wheeled handcart and a baby carriage are nearby. A small child is in the background near two chickens. A woman stands on the steps of one of the houses. Paper litters the street in the left foreground. The tree at the left appears to be an elm. Inscribed on back: "Housing for Germans who work [blank] / Street off Warwarme Ave. / Curcombe St. (off / Hendricxsen Ave.)"<br>
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. <br>Nine Swiss chalet style houses were built in 1858 by Samuel Colt for German workers whom he imported from Potsdam, Germany to make furniture from willow trees that grew along the Connecticut River. <br>
