Description	Men crowd the west end of the covered bridge, looking at the smoking ruins. Only a small portion of the entrance remains standing. A sign reads: "To see the bargains in Mulcahy's window - Walk your horses." Some men stand on the stone abutment in the middle of the Connecticut River. A tall derrick, perhaps fire-fighting equipment, is nearby, possibly on a barge. Boys and girls stand on a wooden wharf or platform in the left foreground. A large sign, leaning in the river, reads: "Mulcahy / the..." A utility pole is at the far right. The East Hartford shore of the river is in the background. Inscribed on back: "The very last of the old wooden bridge 1895."<br>
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. <br>Stamp of H. E. King on back reads: "Send your cabinet photo. and 25 [cents], silver, to H. E. King and receive 1 doz. miniature copies...." <br>The covered bridge across the Connecticut River at Hartford was constructed in 1818. It was destroyed by fire on May 17, 1895. <br>
