Description	Two-story frame house with Corinthian columns, louvered shutters at the windows, two round windows, an oval window and two half lunettes in the gable, and shops on the ground floor. Signs read: "484 / R.J. Smith & Co. / Fancy / Meats & Groceries" "Meats - R.J. Smith - Vegetables" "New Haven Stove Repair Co." "Home / Products / Sales Co. / Malt & Hops." "Furnaces / Fittings / Leaders / Gutters / Registers / Manufacturers of / Stove Pipes / Water Pipes / Stoves / Ranges." Merchandise displayed in shop windows includes canned goods. A brick commercial building at the right has a fire escape and a sign that reads: "Globe Furniture Co." A pile of dirt is on the sidewalk in front of a one-story building, apparently a diner, at the left. Utility and trolley poles and wires are in the foreground.<br>
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. <br>The house was built by Abraham Bradley, ca. 1807. The architect is said to have been Peter Banning of Boston. In 1929 the first floor of the building was removed and remodeled for commercial use. <br>
