Description	Steam issues from the boiler of a steam fire engine as it races down a busy city street. Horse-drawn omnibuses are on trolley tracks at the left and right. Other horse-drawn wagons are nearby. Men, women and boys stand on the sidewalks. Brick commercial buildings in the background have signs that read: "Daily and Weekly Times" "Geo. J. Loeffler, German.." "Haub & Sons" "Ladies / Coat / and / Riding Habit / Makers" "Fine / Tailoring / for / Ladies / and / Gentleman's / Wear" "Stocks, Grains, Oil and Provisions" "... & Crockery" "[Forbes] & Buckland." Inscribed, lower left: "Oct. 18th 1889." Inscribed on back: "Oct. 18 / 1889" "Company #3 Jumbo, Front St. [sic] / Big Jack Davis at wheel / Wethersfield Ave. Horse Car."<br>
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. <br>George Haub, George Haub, Jr., and Otto Haub were the partners in Haub & Sons, merchant jewelers, located at 248 Main Street. <br>The Hartford Daily Times was located at 250 Main Street. <br>E. Sumner Forbes and Lee H. Buckland were the partners in Forbes & Buckland and sold crockery at 256 Main Street. <br>George J. Loeffler was a druggist at 246 Main Street. <br>
