Description	Parade float representing a Viking ship. Some of the people marching behind the float wear sashes. Crowds of men, women, and children line the sidewalks on both sides of the street. Banners hang from utility poles. Across the street are St. Peter's Church and its convent, a large brick building. Inscribed on back: "Viking Ship - Swedish Group / 5 / State Tercentenary Parade / Oct. 12, 1935."<br>
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. <br>The Sisters of Mercy lived at St. Peter's Convent, 188 Main Street, Hartford. St. Peter's Church was located at 170 Main Street, Hartford. <br>Hartford celebrated the 300th anniversary of the founding of Connecticut with a parade on October 12, 1935. It included 20,000 marchers, 105 floats, 12 large divisions, 30 bands, over 500 separate organizations and 20 national groups. It was watched by 400,000 people and took 3 hours to pass by. <br>
