Description	Infant's dress of white cotton has a wide, square neckline controlled by a drawstring. The bodice front has a V-shaped insertion of embroidery edged with a ruffle and the short sleeves consist mainly of one strip of embroidery matching the bodice. The bodice waistband is overlaid with an embroidered band; the skirt is closely gathered into its own plain waistband. The bodice and skirt are made separately and are basted together at the waistband.<br>
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger.<br>Lucinda Hart Smith and her half-sister, Cordelia Smith, made this dress for Lucinda's daughter. Annie Louise Smith was born in October 1849. She was baptized in the dress. Annie Louise Smith was the mother of Rose Churchill. The family lived in New Britain.<br>Gift of John G. T. Slater and Shirley Slater Crosman.<br>
