Description	Four-story wooden hotel building with porches on each of the upper floors and a balustrade on the roofline. A sign reads: "American Hotel." Businesses at street level include the American Fruit Store, which has magazines displayed in a rack on the sidewalk, and signs that advertise "Fireworks for Sale; "" Cranton's Coffee House with a second sign reading "Lunch Room; "" and the variety store of "Louis Getz, successor to / Jacob Getz." In the brick commercial building at the right is H. Michelson "High Grade / Tailoring" and a shop with cigar boxes in its window. Two automobiles are parked in front of the building. A third is blurred from movement.<br>

Gordon Cranton operated a restaurant at 3 American Row. <br>Two brothers of Louis Getz and sons of Jacob Getz are listed in Hartford Jews: Aaron Getz, a cigar manufacturer, and Solomon Getz, the proprietor of a clothing store on State Street. <br>
