Description	Men unload boxes from a barge at the left using a block and tackle. Another man in a rowboat is at the far left, beside an empty rowboat. The steamer, probably the English vessel John Bramall, is at the right. Men load the boxes onto a wooden ramp. Shrouds with ratlines support two masts. A flag flies from the stern. A ladder is over the side nearest the barge. A small sailboat is in the left background. Letterpress text beneath image: "Transferring Arms and Ammunition from the Barge to the Steamer, at New Haven."<br>
Notes	Wood-engraved illustration from Connecticut-The Oriental War Cloud - The Manufacture and Shipment, at New Haven, of Metallic Cartridges for the Turkish Government, published in Frank Leslie's Illustrated Magazine, May 5, 1877. <br>The vessel is identified as the John Bramall in the accompanying article. According to the article, the cargo consisted of 10,000,000 cartridges manufactured by the Winchester Metallic Cartridge Company of New Haven. <br>
