Description	Trolley car no. 235 on track in middle of street. A sign on the trolley reads "West Hartford." A man in a suit and a straw hat (possibly a dispatcher) holds a striped pole at the left of the trolley. A boy in knickers stands behind him. To their left is a long row of horse-drawn carriages, probably cabs for hire. Behind them is the Hartford Post Office building. The American Hotel is in the background. Commercial buildings line the right side of the street. Signs read: "Harness / Making / Repair / Custom Work / A Spec[ialty]" "Restaurant" "Parker & Co. / Fox & Co." "Dwight Slate Machine Co." "the Hartford Telegram" "Hardware." The building on the far right is Saengerbund Hall.<br>
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. <br>The Dwight Slate Machine Co., 13 Central Row, manufactured "the well-known Sensitive Drills" and other tools and machinery. <br>Saengerbund Hall, 11 Central Row, was the meeting place of the Hartford Saengerbund, founded in 1858 and incorporated in 1893. <br>Parker & Co., successors to Fox & Co., were wholesale and retail grocers located at 17 Central Row. <br>
