Description	Four-story industrial building with a square tower, located beside a mill dam. Smaller buildings probably include a barn and a warehouse. A large Italianate house is in the background. It has a cupola, porch, bay window, and brackets beneath the roof. A carriage house is at the far left. Additional mills, houses and other buildings are in the right background near an iron railroad bridge. A train is approaching this village from the left. Roads, fields and woods are in the distance. A small sailboat is on the river in the right foreground. Inscribed in stone beneath image: "Residence and Mills of J.D. Stowe. / Scitico, Conn."<br>
Notes	J.D. Stowe produced manila paper, tobacco paper and counter paper in his mill at Scitico. The mill burned in 1905. <br>Scitico is a community in Enfield on the Scantic River, one and one half miles east of Hazardville. <br>
