Description	View looking west from partially completed stone bridge abutment. A second abutment is beyond wooden piling, which will form the base for the centering spans for the stone arches. Courses of granite blocks are at the right. Two men stand atop a wooden form or caisson. Cranes are at right and left. Freight cars are on a railroad track on the embankment in the background. Signs on the cars read: "N.Y.N.H. & H. / 10984" "New York / New Haven / and Hartford / 72729" "NYNH & H / 19186" "Lehigh Valley / 64552" "southern / 15924." Utility poles and the Hartford skyline are visible in the background. Water towers are on some buildings.<br>
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. <br>The Bulkeley Bridge has concrete foundations. From the foundation to the springing line of the arches, it is built of Leete's Island granite. The remainder of the structure is built of Stony Creek granite. Both the Leete's Island quarry and the Stony Creek quarry are in Branford. <br>Construction of the new stone arch Bulkeley Bridge by McMullin, Weand & McDermott began early in 1904 and continued until the December 1907 when the bridge opened to trolley traffic and the general public. <br>
