Description	The brick building at the right, which appears to be undergoing demolition, is the old town hall. It has arched windows, a pediment and chimneys. A shield-shaped plaque is beside the left door. Some of the timbers framing the wooden cupola are exposed. Piles of bricks, stones and wood are in front of the building. A wooden walkway leads to the right door. The high school at the left has a stone lower story and brick upper stories, a corner tower, a hipped roof and a balcony. Sidewalks, utility poles and lampposts line the street. Some trees appear to be elms. The Union Monument, depicting a Civil War soldier standing on a tall pedestal, is at the far left. Inscribed in image, lower left: "A Relic 1890." Inscribed on back: "High School & Town Hall / Meriden" "Old Town Hall, / Meriden."<br>
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. <br>A different town hall building in the same location was destroyed by fire February 14, 1904. A third town hall was subsequently built on the same site. <br>
