Description	The flooded Connecticut River valley is in the background. The Hartford covered bridge and an iron railroad bridge cross the river. Buildings in East Hartford are on the far shore. The rooftops of Hartford are in the foreground. A flag on a flagpole reads: "Connecticut." The large building with porches and a cupola is the American Hotel. A warehouse or coal pocket on the waterfront has a sign that reads: "Coal." Laundry hangs from clotheslines on the roofs of some buildings. Inscribed on back: "View of Flood from Aetna Bldg - North - April 17, 1895."
