Description	A man, slightly blurred from movement, walks past a frame commercial building. Signs read: "Ballantine & Sons. Ale and Porter" and "Fred E. Day." A sign in the shop window reads: "Ballantine / October Ale / on Draught." Louvered shutters are on the upper stories. At the left, signs of the building and its striped awning read: "[Br]ewer 100" "Market" "Provisions" "[Dodge] & Brewer." A hitching post is on the sidewalk at the far left near the wheel of a horse-drawn wagon.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. Inscribed at lower right: "11 / 96" [November 1896] Frederick E. Day's saloon was located at 98 Main Street. Charles N. Dodge and Charles H. Brewer were the proprietors of Dodge & Brewer at 100 Main Street from 1890-1897. The street numbers changed in 1898.
