Description	Frame commercial buildings, utility poles, paved sidewalks and trees, including elms, line a dirt street with trolley tracks in it. Signs read: "W.J. Tolhurst & Son / Home made / Sausage / Our Specialty / Groceries /Meats / Fruit" "Washburn / Crosby's / Gold / Medal / Flour" "Charley / Tailor / Ladies and Gents / Garments / Cleaned / Pressed & Altered." A picket fence and a fire hydrant are in front of the grocery store. Street signs at the far right read: "New Haven / New York / Middletown / Franklin Ave." and "Retreat." A sign on the trolley wires at the left reads: "Power Off / Section Breaker." Inscribed on back: "This building stood at the junction of / Maple and Retreat Avenues (facing north) / The Hartford Hospital started in this building. /Miss Mary Tolcott told the above information / to Ada Louise Taylor and Mary Curtin Taylor / the summer of 1915."
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. William J. Tolhurst and his sons William C. Tolhurst and Frank E. Tolhurst sold meats and groceries at 55 Maple Avenue. Charles Weinstein had a tailor shop at 59 Maple Avenue.
