Description	Workmen pose on top of the third story of a building under construction. Some wear overalls. Several cranes are atop the building. Some men stand on partially completed brick walls and what appear to be steel girders. Building materials, including lumber and blocks of stone, are piled around the site. The facade incorporates Ionic columns, pilasters and pediments. The date "1869" appears above the entrance, surrounded by carved oak leaves. Inscribed on back: "Aetna Life - Charter Oak Life - 1869."
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. The Charter Oak Life Insurance Company was located at 240 Main Street. The company failed in 1878. The building was later occupied by the Aetna Life Insurance Co.
