Description	Man stands beside a stone monument. He has mustache and beard and wears a suit and bow tie. The square monument incorporates a bronze bas-relief depicting a man in eighteenth-century military uniform. Inscribed in image: "Camp No. 8 of French Auxillaries / under Rochambeau, June 29th 1761. / at Marion, in the Town of Southington / Conn. / Hazard." Typewritten inscription on back: "Rochambeau Monument / & / Capt. O'Brien." Inscribed on back: "1912 / same / size / Courant."
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. Captain Lawrence O'Brien was the creator of the Rochambeau Monument, which was erected on French Hill in memory of the French soldiers who aided the United States during the Revolutionary War.
