Description	Painted cartoon depicts a man in a lab coat holding up a large sign that reads: "E." The caption reads: "Can you see this?" To the left, a second doctor holds a large bell which he is tapping with a hammer. The caption reads: "Can you hear this?" A young man in underpants holds his head and says "Yes Yes." At the far left, a man in a suit jacket and hat is taking a sheet of paper, presumably a draft notice, out of a mailbox. A dog lies at his feet. Typewritten on back: "Painting on the wall at Sage Allen's. S. D. C. / Hartford, Conn. / 'GREETING'S FROM THE PRESIDENT.' ""
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. The photograph is slightly out of focus. The Store Door Canteen in the Sage-Allen department store had several cartoon drawings on the walls depicting military life. Vignettes include entering the service and KP duty. Army, navy, and marines all appear to be represented. Charles W. Ainsworth took this photograph while serving in the Army Recruiting Station in Hartford during World War II.
