Description	A horse-drawn wagon with a sign that reads "J.G. Scoville" is on a dirt road beside a frame building with two brick chimneys, windows with louvered shutters, and a corner entrance door with sidelights. Signs read: "D. De Bella" "Weideman / & Co.'s / Extra Fine / Lager / Beer" "Ales, Porter / & Cigars" "Wines / and / Liquors" "Wm. Hull & Son / Ale & Porter" "Pool Room." Vines grow on the front porch. A wire runs to a booth with closed shutters at the right. A vertical-boarded building at the far right with a sign that reads: "Distant... / Wholesale / Produce Dea[ler]" is probably a warehouse. A frame house at the far left, beside a board fence, has a sign that reads: "Lodging / House." Paved sidewalks line the street. Light snow is on the ground and on the roof of the building at the far right. Inscribed on back: "Admiral Andrew Hull Foote was born in this house in 1806, / later his family moved to Cheshire, Conn. Also the home of Col. Jonas / Prentice prior to 1800 and Julius Tyler, blacksmith, from 1832 to 1874. This house was located on the southeast corner of Union & Fair Sts. / and was removed about 1906 to make way for the widening of the / RR cut."
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. Dominick DeBella is listed in the New Haven city directory as having a fruit stand at 68 Fair Street, the corner of Union Street, ca. 1890. He lived at the same address. The boarding house was probably that run by Thilo Failer, who operated a saloon and boarding house at 58 Fair Street. Thomas F. Fitzpatrick was a produce dealer at 27 Union Street. He was the only produce dealer located on either Union or Fair Street, ca. 1890.
