Description	Frame house with an overhang, louvered shutters and a central brick chimney. A hatchway probably leads to a cellar. A dog sits on the stone steps nearby. Rocks and a tree stump are in the grassy lawn. The roof of an outbuilding is at the left. A stone wall is in the foreground. The large leafless tree may be an elm. Inscribed on back: "The home of Catharine Bushnell / wife of John Woodruff / daughter of Stephen and / Temperance Bushnell and / sister of Abraham Bushnell / who was the grand father of / Dr. Horace Bushnell of / Hartford. / This house was built by John Woodruff before 1800 and / is the Woodruff homestead, / situated at the corner of West / & Spring Streets, near the West / St. School house. / Southington, Conn." "Katherine Woodruff, wife of John Woodruff, Jr. / was born Sept. 13, 1748." "She was born 3 days after death of Stephen Bushnell / Farmington."
