Description	Painted cartoon depicts a young man wearing polka dot boxer shorts. Doctors stand on each side of him, giving him an injection in each arm. Two small horns on the head of each doctor make them look like devils. A sign at the right reads: "Typhoid / & / Smallpox". Typewritten on back: "Painting at Sage Allen's S.D.C. / Hartford, Conn. 'Typhoid and small pox shots.' ""
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. The Store Door Canteen in the Sage-Allen department store had several cartoon drawings on the walls depicting military life. Vignettes include entering the service and KP duty. Army, navy, and marines all appear to be represented. Charles W. Ainsworth took this photograph while serving in the Army Recruiting Station in Hartford during World War II.
