Description	Artist's rendering of four-story white marble Victorian Gothic government building with pointed arches and a large domed tower. The Second Empire style Mansard roof has a crocketed roofline. Men, women and horse-drawn carriages are on the driveway and lawn. Printed beneath image: "The New Capitol Building, Hartford, Conn."<br>
Notes	The building is shown with a large domed tower, as constructed, and not with the central clock tower featured in architect Richard M. Upjohn's winning competition design. This alteration occurred about 1874. However, the rendering still differs in significant ways from the building as executed, most notably in the design of the corner towers. <br>
