Description	Brick commercial block in the Romanesque revival style has marble and terracotta decorations, arched windows, corbel tables, and columns. Striped columns identify a barbershop. Signs on storefronts read: "Star / Barber Shop" "High Class / Specialist / Electric Massage... / Scalp Treatment" "H.C. Judd & Root" "177 / Wool..." "... Publishing" "rambler - 183" "132 - Geo. W. Moseley & Son." A shoeshine chair is on the sidewalk at the corner of the building. Part of a stone church is visible at the far left. Inscribed on back: "Judd & Root bldg. / March 1910 /Courant / Later known as the Professional Bldg / Park Cong'l Church behind and at left." "Cor. Allyn & High."
Notes	The Judd & Root building was erected in 1883 to the designs of the architectural firm Kimball & Wisedell. Henry C. Judd, Edwin Y. Judd, Judson H. Root and James H. Bidwell were the partners in Judd and Root, wool dealers at 177 Allyn Street.
