Description	Open carriage drawn by four horses in front of the Allyn House hotel, the facade of which is draped with American flags. Two men, both wearing overcoats, sit in the driver's seat. A Connecticut state flag is mounted on the front corner. Men and boys stand on the sidewalk. One man, smoking a cigar, appears to be African American. Some men have beards or mustaches. A fire hydrant and a street light are beside the street. Signs read: "Official / Automobile / Blue Book / Hotel" "S.H. Sachaklian" "Sale." Inscribed on back: 'This elaborate open landau drawn by four proud stepping blacks owned by Dan Cotter, conveyed Governor Elect Marcus H. Holcombe to the State Capitol in 1915. It was Hartford's last horse-drawn inaugural procession."
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. Stephen H. Sachaklian sold oriental rugs in the Allyn House annex. Daniel F. Cotter was the proprietor of a garage and livery stable at 40 Beach Street. This photograph formerly hung in Honiss Oyster House, State Street, Hartford. Allyn House was located at 152 Asylum Street, at the corner of Trumbull Street.
