Description	Academic buildings include two similar four-story buildings with central pavilions with Ionic pilasters and a building with a square tower and an Ionic portico, probably a chapel. A hedge surrounds the college grounds, which are planted with trees. Men and women walk in the dirt street or on sidewalks. One woman wears a veil. A horse-drawn carriage is at the left. A man with a wheelbarrow is in the left background. Behind a board fence, a man with a rake tends several large flowering plants. Inscribed in stone beneath image: "Trinity College / Hartford, Conn." Lower left: "From Nature by A. Weingartner." Lower right: "C. Kuchel's Lith. Hartford."<br>
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. <br>Trinity College was founded as Washington College in 1823. The name was changed to Trinity in 1845. <br>Charles Conrad Kuchel does not appear to be otherwise recorded as working in Hartford. He was in Philadelphia between 1846 and 1853 and in San Francisco from 1853 to 1860. He may have executed this lithograph in Hartford shortly prior to 1846. <br>
