Description	Vignettes depict the following subjects. Men in top hats, coats or capes and vests select fabrics at a counter. Bolts of fabric are on shelves in the background. A tailor takes a customer's measurements. Another man stands at a desk, writing with a quill pen. Two tailors cut out garments using scissors. Six tailors sit cross-legged on a bench sewing and pressing. Scissors, irons and scraps of cloth are on the bench. A customer tries on the finished garment and looks at his reflection in a mirror. Two men holding bolts of cloth walk on a street. Inscribed in plate: "Silas Chapman / Merchant Tailor / No. 1 / Central Row / Corner of Main St. 147 / Hartford / is / Constantly supplied with a complete assortment of /Cloths Cassimers and Vestings / Garments /Thoroughly made and trimmed in the / neatest and most fashionable style."<br>
