Description	A man, probably a preacher or minister, stands on a wooden platform reached by a ladder addressing a crowd of women seated in chairs. One woman wears a shawl. Two hold fans. One appears to be weeping into a handkerchief. Other men sit on the platform behind the speaker. Male spectators sit at the right. Other men, women, boys and girls stand or sit around the main group or in tents. The tents are inscribed: "W.H." "4 St." "E.S." "F.H." "M.M." "B.S." "C.M." "E.T." "F.M." A flag is inscribed "Bethel." A tea kettle hangs over an open fire at the far left. The camp is located in a grove of trees. Inscribed in stone beneath image: "Camp Meeting." Inscribed in graphite: "Presented to Alanson B. Thayer By / William S. Dickinson Septr. 1851."<br>
Notes	Possibly Bethel, Connecticut, where a church campground was located. <br>
