Description	View of partially collapsed five-story building. Piles of rubble are on the ground with many men standing nearby. A wagon, drawn by two horses, is in the street, which is lined with utility poles, wires and street lights. Buildings in the background probably include the First Methodist Episcopal Church. A sign reads: "Earle House." Letterpress text beneath image: "The Hartford Hotel Disaster - From a Photograph by F.L. Hale Manchester [see Page 107]"<br>
Notes	From Harper's Weekly, March 2, 1889. <br>Earle House, Thomas J. Winter, proprietor, was another hotel, located at 74 High Street. <br>Wellington Ketchum was the proprietor of the Park Central Hotel. The hotel was destroyed by an explosion of its steam boiler in the early morning of February 17, 1889. 22 people were killed. 10 were rescued. Only part of the eastern wing remained standing. <br>
