Description	View looking up the Mystic River toward Old Mystic. The masts of a schooner identified as Saucy May can be seen in the foreground. Along the water to the left is a waterfront structure that may be associated with Riverview Cottage. To the right is a sloop yacht identified as the James G. Blaine. A number of Old Mystic buildings can be seen in the background, along and beyond the shore of the upper Mystic River.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. Handwritten on back: "View taken from the hill near "Riverview" showing yacht "Jas G Blaine" Masts of Schooner "Saucy Maid" Dock, and Naphtha Launch - House at "Riverview" and part of the Village of Old Mystic Conn 1900" Probably taken near Riverview Cottage, residence of Charles Q. Eldredge, an Old Mystic native who in 1917 founded a private museum of curiosities that was located on the Groton side of the Mystic River in the Old Mystic area. What may be the same vessel is identified as Saucy May in the record for another photograph (1980.41.136). Rubber stamped on back: "Elmer E. Waite,/PHOTOGRAPHER,/ OLD MYSTIC, CONN." Mounted on gray embossed card, 8 x 10 in.
