Description	View of Holmes Street, Mystic, looking south toward East Main Street, the flagpole and Hoxie House. The Mallory Sail Loft is on the left. Visible in front of the building is an automobile, apparently in motion. To the right, two men are walking in the direction of East Main Street.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. On reverse, in left margin, is printed "PUBLISHED BY P. HAMMACHER, MYSTIC, CONN. MADE IN U.S.A." Handwritten in ink on reverse is "Hoxie/note Door on side/ steps" The Mallory Sail Loft was probably built sometime in the 1830's. Charles Mallory purchased it in 1837 for his sailmaking business. It continued to be used for that purpose through the 1870's, was later owned by Isaac D. Holmes and the Lathrop Company (marine gasoline engines). It was moved to Mystic Seaport in 1951.
