Description	Port view of the steamer Bridgeport in Bridgeport Harbor. Large buildings are visible along the waterfront and in the background. Caption at top: "Steamer 'Bridgeport', Bridgeport Harbor, Conn."
Notes	Built in Wilmington, Delaware in 1902 as the William G. Payne, for the Bridgeport Steamboat Co., she was renamed in 1903 after the company was acquired by the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad. Bridgeport was one of a fleet of steamers owned by subsidiary companies of the NYNH&H, coordinating rail-steamboat travel from New York to New England cities. She operated between New York and Bridgeport until 1913-1914, and was one of the last (and fastest) sidewheel steamers built for Long Island Sound service. Published by Danziger & Berman, New Haven, Connecticut, No. 158. Postmarked March 8, 1909. From the collection of Wilma D. Fowler.
