Mystic
was
known
as
Greenmanville
. The
Greenman
brothers
lived
and had their
shipyard
and
mill
in this
area
in the
nineteenth
century
.
Mystic
Manufacturing
Company
focused
on
production
of
woolens
and
occupied
the
site
of
earlier
textile
enterprises
,
including
a
mill
owned
by
George
Greenman
&
Company
. The
surving
brick
buildings
are
presently
part
of
Mystic
Seaport
, as are
Adams
Point
and a
number
of
former
Greenmanville
buildings
.
