. Its
boom
period
was
during

immediately
after
the
Civil
War
when
it
fitted
and
refitted
a
number
of
vessels
. The
company
also
built
one
vessel
, the
iron-hulled
screw
towboat
Montaines
.
Business
fell
dramatically
after
the
war
. The
building
also
housed
the
looms
of the
Oceanic
Woolen
Mill
from the
late
1860's
to the
early
1870's
;
it
burned
in
1873
. The
hoisting
shears
were
used
to
load
boilers
and
engines
onto
vessels
.
