Description	Port stern view of a four-masted schooner, possibly Marie Gilbert, being launched just south of the Mystic River highway bridge, Mystic. Crowds are gathered along the shore in the foreground and to the left. Central Hall and the Riverside Block can be seen in the left background. Two other vessels are visible to the right of the schooner being launched.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. Built 1906 at Gilbert Transportation Company and named for the founder's wife, Marie Gilbert was a four-masted schooner with an auxiliary engine. Gilbert Transportation Company was located just south of the drawbridge on the Groton side of the river. Founded by Captain Mark L. Gilbert, the company specialized in repair and rebuilding work and was active from 1906-1909. Financial troubles resulted in the closing of the shipyard in 1909.
