Description	Two men identified as Professors H.W. Webb and S.L. Quimby are described as standing on deck, apparently engaged in measuring the yacht Shamrock V using an instrument identified as a pantograph.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. Handwritten on back."Here are two of the men from the Physics Department of Columbia University, who came to New London, Conn., to measure the Lipton yacht Shamrock V. They are Prof. H.W. Webb, at right, official measurer of the New York Yacht Club and Prof. S.L. Quimby, Professor Webb is adjusting a novel machine called a pantograph which automatically records the measurements of the yacht below the water line." Commissioned by Sir Thomas J. Lipton and designed by Charles E. Nicholson, the J-Class sloop Shamrock V was the fifth unsuccessful challenger to the America's Cup sponsored by Lipton. She was defeated in the 1930 Cup races by Enterprise. Rubberstamped on back: "Photo by/ JAMES P. NEILAN/ Box 384, New London, Conn."
