Description	Double portraits of a man, woman and two children, identified as "Uncle George & Wife & Children (Grandmother Scholfield's Brother)". The portrait on the left is of a man with a child standing or being held on his left. The child wears a dark-colored dress and the man a coat and tie. The portrait on the right is of a woman in a dark-colored dress holding a child in a white or light-colored dress. The woman's hair is pulled back to expose her ears; she is wearing earrings.
Notes	Title supplied by cataloger. Attributed to professional photographer Everett A. Scholfield, who worked primarily in Mystic and New London from 1865-1913. The "Grandmother Scholfield" referred to may be his mother, Mary Andros Scholfield. Brass cut-out mat surrounds both images. Hinged case is lined with red velvet. Inner brass mat reads "SCOVILL MFG CO SUPERIOR", and on the other side: 'WATERBURY CONN.". Case dimensions: 3 x 2-3/8 in. On inner mats for both: "DEAN & EMERSON PATENT APPLIED FOR". On inner mat for man and child: "WORCESTER, MASS. NO. 27" and for worman and child: "WORCESTER, MASS. NO. 11" Possible date based on clothing and hairstyle.
